Product Details

Speedplay X/2 Stainless

Speedplay's X/2 pedals provide knee-saving unlimited float without the self-centering action inherent in most pedals, so your knees don't have to work against spring tension. They also boast a stainless steel spindle, needle and dual cartridge bearings for smooth spinning, and a dual-sided design for extremely easy entry and exit. A compact, low profile positions your feet closer to the axles for maximum power transmission and unmatched cornering clearance.

    Comments:

Been using these pedals for over 20 years now. Got them initially because of (8) knee operations and for the past 10 years, have averaged over 4,000 miles per year. While these pedals are clearly knee friendly, they are also incredibly easy to get into and out of. You can lock in quickly from a dead stop, and kick your heels out even quicker to release. As for walking, the optional rubber covers work like a charm. Pedals are low maintenance and provide literally years of reliable service. The X2 may be the simpliest, trouble-free item a person can find in the cycling world. If you want a shoe / cleat combo to use in the dirt, buy something else. If you ride a road bike and don't mind slipping on a couple rubber covers that will take less than 10 seconds so you can walk around, the X2s are terrific.

        Comments:

I was looking for an easier dual sided entry pedal and this does find the cleat quickly. However entry and exit are not adjustable and needs to be broken in. Why? No front to back adjustment on the shoe cleat, only side to side. Do not step on grass as it will get stuck in the cleat. I could feel the narrow platform through the shoe when pushing hard or standing. I read many pros have been using these pedals. I am not a pro.
